Crow’s Nest: Movie Night!

March 6, 2024

By Daniel Barringer, Preserve Manager.

We’re very excited to be hosting a screening of a one-hour film, Hidden Rivers, that explores the rivers and streams of the Southern Appalachian region, North America’s most biologically rich waters, and the people who study them. We will screen the film on Saturday, March 16 from 7 – 8 pm.

Crow’s Nest Preserve already hosts programs for local students, sponsored by NorthBay, that involve creek snorkeling and discovery along French Creek where it passes through the preserve. The Hidden Rivers film takes us a little further south to look under the water of the mountain streams of the Southern Appalachians, a hotspot for global species diversity. Prepare for stunning videography. You can read about the film here.

Also note that we now have new, comfortable chairs in our meeting room at the visitor center barn at 201 Piersol Road, the location of the screening. We’ll have light refreshments. This screening is sponsored by the Cassandra O. and Dennis B. Lacey Performance Series.
