Building Bridges at Bryn Coed Preserve – Part Two!
We’re building bridges at Bryn Coed Preserve! The week before Thanksgiving staff members constructed two bridges to extend the existing trail system at Bryn Coed Preserve. In part one we looked at the construction of the 30-foot equipment/equestrian bridge.
Now we’re taking you behind the scenes of the construction of the 55-foot bridge. The site had to be prepared to support the bridge to ensure it was safe for visitors. Then the area around the bridge was prepared for planting to protect the stream and add to the forest.
Not including the site prep, this project took about a week to complete. A huge undertaking, but one that will help extend the trail system and connect sections of the nature preserve for visitors.
