Scenes of the Schuylkill Art Show

December 7, 2018

By Daniel Barringer, Preserve Manager.

There’s just one week left to see the Scenes of the Schuylkill Art Show, a juried exhibition being held at the West Campus of Montgomery County Community College (in North Hall on High Street, in Pottstown). The show is hosted by the college and the Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area, one of our partners in the Hopewell Big Woods.

I had the opportunity to visit the art show this week and really liked what I saw. If you think about it, a pretty large amount of the land Natural Lands protects in several counties is part of the Schuylkill Watershed, so the art show covers a cross section of the history, nature, and people of this pretty wonderful place. I’ll add that the gallery in North Hall is a beautiful old converted industrial space.

And spoiler alert: There is an oil painting of Crow’s Nest Preserve in the show, one by artist Karen Weber.

The art show is free but there’s only one week left to see it! Gallery hours are here.
