We’ll hold a volunteer day on Sunday, March 4 from 1 to 4 pm to cleanup a couple old dumps at the preserve—one we’ve been working on for a few years (see the smiling group above) and another that was thoroughly cleaned up decades ago, but cans and bottles have begun coming to the surface again. We’ll also cut some invasive vines as we work to make these parts of the woods more attractive.

Dress in work clothes with sturdy, waterproof shoes, and bring work gloves if you have them. We’ll meet at the visitor center at 201 Piersol Road and promptly carpool over to the work site about a mile away. We’ll still have to walk in a bit since the area is too wet to get vehicles equipment to get in… hence volunteers! Many hands make light work, and we should be able to wrap up these projects nicely on this day. There is also an opportunity (but not a requirement!) for the volunteers to cross our wire bridge on this day should you want to do so (it’s popular with the kids).
