Kelly Herrenkohl
Vice President of Communications and Engagement
(she/her/hers)
Kelly joined Natural Lands in 2019 as vice president of communications and engagement. She leads the organization’s strategic initiatives to connect people to the outdoors and to promote Natural Lands’ work to save land and care for nature in eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.
“Encouraging people to get outside at one of our nature preserves and inspiring them take action in their own lives to care for the natural world—I can’t think of better job.”
Kelly serves on the policy advisory committee for WeConservePA and on the steering committees for the PA Growing Greener Coalition and the Coalition for the Delaware River Watershed. She works with these groups to advocate for public investment in clean water, conservation, and outdoor access.
Prior to joining Natural Lands, Kelly spent a decade in leadership at Vetri Community Partnership, a Philadelphia non-profit that promotes health and wellness through hands-on culinary education for children and families.
Kelly loves any opportunity to get into the woods—and spent much of the last 20 years trying to drag her four kids along with her, with mixed results. “I keep inviting them along. They reward me with an occasional yes, which keeps me asking!”
She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and holds a master’s degree from the University of Missouri.
