Poconos Excursion

July 22, 2011

I worked a day in the Poconos this week.  While it was cooler there than at Mariton, I still got soaked.  I soaked my shirt just from the hiking.  My legs got wet when I crossed a stream that was deeper than my boots.

The Joe-pye-weed was in full bloom and beautiful.  There were still Rhododendrons in bloom.  Butterflies were abundant.  As I slogged through a wetlands, a Common Yellowthroat popped out of the sedges and perched beside me.

This little Porcupine caught my eye as I wandered along a wooded stream.
