Mariton: Nine Days Later

You may recall the Nest Box Quiz where I showed two broods of nestlings and asked readers to identify which were the Tree Swallows and which were the Bluebirds.  Well nine days later the differences are more apparent.  The bluebirds above have 7 – 10 days before they leave the nest box.

The Tree Swallows below (accompanied by an adult) will be gone with in a week.
