Mariton: Nest Box Activity

Activity in the nest boxes is starting.  I have a Bluebird nest with 5 eggs.  They should hatch out sometime next week.

I also have two Chickadee nests.  You can see 3 eggs in the photo above.  Chickadees insulate eggs with hair until the clutch is complete and the female starts sitting.  It is fun to put hair (brushing the dog?) or thread out in the yard to watch birds collect it for nesting material.
