Gregory Blue and the Landscapes of Stroud Preserve – Walk-ins Welcome

March 13, 2024 | 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Landscape painting by Gregory Blue

Online registration is closed, but walk-ins welcome.

Studio Incamminati and Natural Lands invite you to an exciting exhibit of original art: Gregory Blue and the Landscapes of Stroud Preserve. This special evening celebration will mark the commencement of the dazzling exhibit, which features 40+ works, large and small, inspired by Natural Lands’ Stroud Preserve and created by artist Gregory Blue over the last several years.

Studio Incamminati, which will host the exhibit, has been at the forefront of the contemporary realist art movement for two decades. Founded by Nelson and Leona Shanks, it is now recognized internationally for its rigorous curriculum, accomplished instructors, and diverse outreach efforts.

Studio Incamminati makes its home in South Philadelphia’s Bok building, an old school turned workspace — full of makers, businesses, nonprofits, and artists. Gregory’s work will be showcased from February 29 to May 3. Join us for a meet and greet with the artist in a unique and fun venue.

There is no charge to attend. The Bok Bar is bringing the cash bar to the Studio. If the weather cooperates, enjoy your drink on the roof of the 7th floor overlooking the skyline of Philadelphia. Bring a friend and enjoy an evening of art at the Bok.

About the artist – Gregory Blue:

For more than 40 years, Gregory Blue’s landscape paintings have taken inspiration from the bucolic imagery and natural beauty of the region of Bucks and Chester County, Pennsylvania. As the first major exhibition of Blue’s work in almost 20 years, this show opens a fascinating view into the artist’s evolving process and approach. Blue’s world vision is saturated with color, patterns, and textures encountered at various times of day under changing light conditions. The resulting exploration is a symphony of highly controlled yet powerfully dramatic tableaux that resound with brilliantly colored, evocatively illuminated rural scenes typical of southeastern Pennsylvania.
