With the beginning of the new year, how can you find ways to stress less, enjoy more, and replace feeling overwhelmed with gratitude?

Take some time for yourself to find steadiness and ease at our mini wellness retreat at Hildacy Preserve. During the session, guide Christina Fittipoldi will lead a gentle yoga movement and breathwork practice.

There will be time for exploration and reflection of the preserve. Finish your morning with a sound bath with singing bowls played on and off the body for deep relaxation, offered by certified vibrational sound practitioner Mindie Hung.

About the instructors:

Christina Fittipoldi: Completed a 200-hour vinyasa yoga teacher training in May 2015 and began teaching a wide variety of asana movement at multiple studios. Eager to dive deeper, she completed the 300-hour teacher training at Main Line Yoga Shala in December 2019 entitled “Agni Moksha.” She enjoys guiding students mindfully through safe and responsible movement using body and breath awareness, allowing students to journey within.

Mindie Hung: In 2017 she became a certified vibrational sound therapy licensed practitioner with the Vibrational Sound Association (VSA). She has witnessed the healing power of the singing bowls after each session she performs.

The former farm fields at Hildacy have been converted to meadows dominated by native grasses such as big and little bluestem, Indian-grass, and switchgrass. Native grass meadows provide valuable habitat for many bird species that are in decline across their ranges. Eastern Bluebirds, American Kestrels, Indigo Buntings, and Red-shouldered Hawks have all nested at Hildacy in recent years.

Crum Creek, a tributary to the Delaware River, meanders through the preserve. The creek is the leading drinking water source for Delaware County residents and was designated a “Special Protection Stream” by the PA Department of Environmental Protection. With help from volunteers and Pennsylvania’s TreeVitalize program, we have planted hundreds of trees along the edge of Crum Creek to improve water quality. Trees and other plants in this area filter the nutrients and sediments transported by surface and groundwater flowing into the creek. Native trees also provide shade and food that benefit fish and other aquatic species.

In 2001, we completed a renovation to our headquarters, including a large addition to the original farmhouse. Throughout the design and construction process, we were careful to minimize environmental impacts. A geothermal system takes advantage of the earth’s constant temperature to heat and cool the building, while the extensive use of glass and exterior shades allow us to reduce heating costs in the winter and lighting costs year-round.

  • Bring a yoga mat, light snack, water bottle, and a towel or blanket.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and consider layers since the weather can vary.
  • The trails are considered moderate in grade, and some parts are rocky; please wear appropriate shoes.
  • Cell phones are permitted, however be sure to silence your device once the program begins.
  • Please leave your four-legged friends at home.

Help us all stay safe:

  • If you are sick or not feeling well, please stay home.
  • Masking is optional. Participants may choose to mask at any time.
