Crow’s Nest: Volunteer Day Saturday
By Daniel Barringer, Preserve Manager
We plan to plant about 800 plugs of native warm season grasses and wildflowers this weekend at Crow’s Nest Preserve. This is the final step in the restoration of a recent addition to the preserve. When finished we we’ll have removed 75% of the lawn area and returned it to woods or meadow.
The meadow plugs are here… we just need to plant them. If you’d like to join us, stop by between 9 and 12 on Saturday. If we finish this we’ll pull garlic mustard in the woods nearby—a task made lighter by last year’s volunteer efforts. The site is on Harmonyville Road near Piersol Road and French Creek.
