Crow’s Nest: Turkeys in the trees

June 10, 2012

This evening while I was walking the dog (leashed, of course) there was a commotion in the woods. A hen turkey and her young had flown into a nearby tree. Turkeys may be subtle and elusive in the wild, but not at the moment they are landing (crashing) on a branch. They are powerful fliers over short distances and explode into the air.
