Crow’s Nest: Contra Dance on Saturday!

May 4, 2011

In addition to the usual June and October dances that are held at Crow’s Nest, we will also be hosting the May event for Elverson Dance in our restored barn on Saturday night.

Contra dancing is like square dancing but arranged in long lines that fit well in each bay of the barn. Swing your partner, do-si-do, Allemande left, promenade and do a hey-for-four (it’s easy—even I can do it!). People who come to the Elverson Dance are very easygoing and will help you learn.

You don’t need to bring a partner, just come and wear comfortable shoes. Admission is $8 (discounts for students, seniors, and members). Beginner’s instruction is at 7:00 pm and the dance begins at 7:30.

Live music is by the Gooseberries and the caller will be Michael Barraclough. See you here!
