This unique program helps students understand that the choices they make have the power to transform the planet, their community, and themselves.
Launched in the fall of 2016, Powered by Nature serves all fifth, sixth, and seventh grade students in the Pottstown School District. And it all happens outside!
The three year curriculum—offered in partnership with NorthBay, an outdoor education center based in Maryland—includes multiple outdoor experiences each year, including exploration of local school yards, visits to nearby streams and parks, and trips to Natural Lands nature preserves.
A program highlight is a one-week stay at NorthBay’s extraordinary nature center on the Chesapeake Bay for sixth grade students,
Powered by Nature is a partnership of Natural Lands, NorthBay, and the Pottstown School District.
