visitor guidelines

  • Leave No Trace. Please leave all plants, flowers, animals, rocks, and artifacts for all visitors to enjoy. Do not disturb research and education activities. Learn more.
  • Take your trash. Please pick up all trash, even biodegradable materials like food scraps, which are unsightly and attract scavengers that can harm native wildlife.
  • Stick to trails. Please stay on designated trails to protect fragile plants, prevent erosion or wildlife disturbance, and reduce the chance of tick-borne illnesses. Ticks and other biting insects may be prevalent depending on the season and weather; repellents are recommended.
  • Take valuables and other items with you. We are not responsible for personal items left in vehicles.

vehicles

  • No motorized vehicles including ATVs, motorcycles, e-bikes, and scooters. Such vehicles can be destructive to plants and wildlife and disrupt the quiet experience others come to enjoy.
  • Motorized wheelchairs and other power-driven mobility devices are welcome for visitors with disabilities.
  • No mountain bikes.

hunting & fishing

  • There is no public hunting on our preserves. Learn more about deer management.
  • Fishing is allowed at select preserves only. Please refer to preserve pages for details.
