Variegated Virginia Creeper

Parthenocissus quinquefolia ‘Monham’ Star Showers®

‘Star Showers’ Virginia Creeper is a native vine that embodies the quote: “Not all those who wander are lost”. With its twining and trailing growth habit, Virginia Creeper can normally grow to be 40 feet tall, but this selection is less vigorous. Plant it on a fence, trellis, wall, or slope, and watch it climb to the stars. ‘Star Showers’ has ornamental, variegated, five-lobed leaves that gently cascade and whorl. The green foliage looks delicately speckled with shades of cream that give it a splattered paint appearance. In the winter, the foliage turns a romantic shade of pink. It is fast growing, making it a great addition to garden structures.

Conditions: Full sun to full shade; average to moist soil
Size: 20′ – 40′ tall
Zone: 4 – 9
Wildlife Value: Larval host for several moth species; fruits provide food for birds
