Threadleaf Coreopsis

Coreopsis verticillata

What a Coreopsis cutie! Showy, 1-2″ yellow flowers dance atop fine stems from June to September. This fabulous plant may even rebloom if it is sheared after the main floral display is done. During the rest of the growing season, fine feathery foliage fills out and provides interest for the shoulder seasons. If you have dry or shallow soils and are tired of looking at descriptions for those plant divas that all want moist, well-drained soils, this is the plant for you! For those lucky folk who do have that most desired soil type, no worries! Threadleaf Coreopsis will grow well for you too, but it may just require some staking, since the stems tend to be weaker when grown in rich, moist soils. This plant spreads by rhizome, so each plant will expand yearly and can be divided every 3-4 years. More plant to love!
