Tall Anemone
Anemone virginiana
Tall thimbleweed, named so because of its “thimble”-like fruiting cluster is a flower for all seasons. In spring, its charming white flowers are the star of the show. In summer, the thimbles provide intriguing structure. Then for a fall finale, the thimble clusters burst with attractive fluffy seeds before they are carried away by the wind.
