Sheep Laurel

Kalmia angustifolia ‘Royal Dwarf’

Sheep Laurel is the dainty, northern cousin to our state flowering shrub, Mountain Laurel. ‘Royal Dwarf’ is a distinguished selection – low-growing, slowly spreading, with evergreen foliage. Reaching just 3 feet in height, it is perfect for small spaces or for taking center stage in a bog container garden. It puts on its best display in moist, acidic soils, showing off elegant clusters of intensely pink flowers in summer and glossy deep green leaves all year long.

Conditions: Full sun to partial shade; average to moist, acidic, soil
Size: 1 – 3′ tall
Zone: 5 – 8
Wildlife Value: Flowers attract bees and butterflies
