Purple Helen’s Flower

Helenium flexuosum ‘Tiny Dancer’

Purple Helen’s Flower is named for Helen of Troy, who is said in Greek mythology to have been the most beautiful woman in the world. This perennial is easily one of the most beautiful flowers in any garden. Its bright yellow petals look like colorful skirts twirling around large, spherical, chocolate-brown disks, adding whimsy to the soggier parts of your garden. Its blooms are prolific and popular with pollinators, but don’t forget to cut a few for your home-grown flower arrangement.
