Mountain Laurel

Kalmia latifolia ‘Peppermint’

From famed Mountain Laurel breeder Dr. Richard Jaynes, ‘Peppermint’ mimics those delicious peppermint candies you used to find at grandma’s house. The flowers open white, but mature to include brilliant burgundy stripes that radiate outwards. An incredible color show anywhere in the garden, ‘Peppermint’ is a relatively compact variety great for formal, wild, or container gardens, and glossy evergreen leaves provide year-round interest. A fresh, minty addition!

Conditions: Part shade; rich, sandy, acidic soils
Size: 4′ tall, 3.5′ spread
