Highbush Blueberry
Vaccinium corymbosum ‘Sweetheart’
Blueberries are some of the most beneficial and wonderful plants out there. In spring, their small, white, bell-shaped flowers attract bees of all sorts, including a few pollen specialists. Their dark blue fruits mature in early summer, providing food for birds and humans alike, and in fall, the leaves turn a spectacular shiny red. ‘Sweetheart’ produces deliciously sweet berries and is even known to delight in some years with a second crop.
