Fringed Bluestar
Amsonia ciliata ‘Halfway to Arkansas’
Fringed bluestar is one of a few lovely perennial species that clumps so beautifully each spring that it seems almost like a shrub in the landscape. Dainty clusters of star-like flowers rise above stems trimmed with narrow leaves in mid-spring. ‘Halfway to Arkansas’ is a selection that blooms with extra pale blue flowers and displays particularly striking golden foliage with purple-brown highlights. To keep the attractive bushy shape through the entire season, give your fringed bluestar a haircut after it finishes flowering.
