Eastern Redbud
Cercis canadensis ‘NCCC1’ Carolina Sweetheart®
The result of a collaboration between North Carolina State University and Star Roses and Plants Nursery, Carolina Sweetheart Redbud is described as “a carnival of color” – and it couldn’t be more true! Typical of most redbuds, a profusion of pink flowers cover the branches in early spring, but the foliage is far from typical. Newly emerged, heart-shaped leaves burst forth in shades of purple and gradually turn shades of green, white, and even hot pink.
