As Natural Lands’ master carpenter, Scott has been instrumental in the restoration and repair of the many structures on our preserves, including a number of historical barns and farmhouses. He has more than 30 years of restoration experience.
One of Scott’s favorite projects has been the restoration of the late 18th-century Jacob Barn at Crow’s Nest Preserve, which serves as work space for the preserve staff. He is never found without a tape measure.
Ever practical, Scott names ash trees as his favorite because their dimensions make for straightforward splitting into pieces for optimal drying.
Ask Scott about: mountain biking.
