Martha has a deep love of the outdoors that she credits to an early exposure to nature by her parents. “I love being outside. As long as I am out, I’m happy!” She is paying it forward by helping Natural Lands expand its programming to include more events for kids.
One of her proudest professional moments was when a child thanked her for taking him on a beach walk. “Seeing the smile on kids faces’ when they learn something cool about nature is what gets me out of bed every day.”
Before joining Natural Lands in 2015, Martha spent eight years as Youth Education Manager for Tyler Arboretum, where she coordinated summer camps, field trips, outreach, and public programs. She also spent several years with the Howard County Conservancy and AmeriCorp.
Martha holds a B.S in Environmental Science from California University of Pennsylvania.
