Josh Saltmer joined Natural Lands in 2015 as a Stewardship Assistant. In 2016, he was promoted to Bear Creek Preserve Manager.
He earned his BS in Resource Conservation from the University of Montana. As part of his studies, Josh conducted forestry research at an intensive two-week residence program in the Lubrecht Experimental Forest. He also conducted several studies and research throughout Northwest Montana including field ecology of threatened and endangered species, wildlife policy and rural communities, and community-based approaches to wildlife conservation.
He is certified in Wilderness and Remote First Aid and CPR/AED, and is also trained in wildland firefighting.
