Cooper joined Natural Lands in 2014 to provide seasonal help to our preserve stewardship team. His dedication and work ethic were quickly apparent, and he was hired as a full-time Stewardship Assistant. In 2017, he was promoted to Preserve Manager.
Following in the footsteps of his dad, Preserve Manager Darin Groff, Cooper has extensive experience with wildfires. He is an assistant forest fire warden and a trained wildland firefighter. He is a great addition to our staff, who regularly employ prescribed burns as a land management technique on our preserves.
Cooper says he simply couldn’t do his job at Natural Lands without a good pair of boots.
