Cooper joined Natural Lands in 2014 to provide seasonal help to our preserve stewardship team. His dedication and work ethic were quickly apparent, and he was hired as a full-time Stewardship Assistant. In 2017, he was promoted to Preserve Manager.
Following in the footsteps of his dad, Preserve Manager Darin Groff, Cooper has extensive experience with wildfires. He is a forest fire warden and a trained wildland firefighter. He is a great addition to our staff, who regularly employ prescribed burns as a land management technique on our preserves.
Cooper says he simply couldn’t do his job at Natural Lands without a good pair of boots.
