Brian Johnson

New Jersey Preserve Manager

Brian Johnson is preserve manager for our New
Jersey preserves, including Peek Preserve and Glades Wildlife Refuge.
His day-to-day responsibilities include stewarding these vast properties
(nearly 10,000 acres!) and maintaining several organization-owned buildings (calling on
his years spent as a carpenter prior to joining Natural Lands in
2007).

Brian is an avid birder who lists binoculars as an essential tool for his job.
One of his favorite native species is the often elusive Snowy Owl. “During the
winter of 2013/2014, Snowies visited our region in record numbers and I spotted
them 10 times!”

Ask Brian about: the birds, butterflies, and dragonflies of South Jersey.
