Martha Moore

Engagement Director

Martha joined Natural Lands in 2015 as the events manager and was promoted a few years later to engagement director where she oversees a team of three colleagues.

Martha has a deep love of the outdoors that she credits to an early exposure to nature by her parents. “I love being outside. As long as I am out, I’m happy!

“While connecting people to the outdoors…and to each other is part of Natural Lands mission, it has been a passion for me, starting as a Girl Scout summer camp counselor, while still in college.” Every time she is out on a hike, she shares her love of nature with her husband or anyone along the trail.

Martha has more than 25 years in the environmental field, educating youth and adults about the wonders of nature. She has taught at nature centers up and down the east coast. Before joining Natural Lands in 2015, Martha spent eight years as youth education manager for Tyler Arboretum, where she coordinated summer camps, field trips, outreach, and public programs. She also spent several years with the Howard County Conservancy and AmeriCorp in Maryland.

Martha holds a B.S. in environmental science from California University of Pennsylvania.
