Cathy Greenland

Director of Individual Giving

Cathy joined Natural Lands in 2022 as the director of individual giving in the development department and leads efforts to expand membership support for our day-to-day efforts for saving open space, caring for nature, and connecting people to the outdoors and each other.

Prior to Natural Lands, she worked for more than 20 years as the director of development at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing—if you wonder why she stayed so long, please note that she was also co-captain of the school’s staff softball team (the Home RNs). Prior professional history includes roles at Special Olympics Philadelphia and Hyacinth AIDS Foundation.

Her career in the nonprofit sector started with a year of service in AmeriCorps with NJPIRG’s Water Watch program where she organized community events, educated the public about urban water pollution, conducted waterway testing, and survived on salsa sandwiches for the better part of a year (and loved every minute of it).

She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Penn State and is working on a certificate in Organizational Anthropology at Penn.

Ask Cathy about: what song is playing in her head right now.
