Development Coordinator

Natural Lands, a vibrant, regional, nonprofit organization and leader in land conservation, natural resource stewardship, and public engagement, seeks a Development Coordinator to join our team.

Since the early 1950s, Natural Lands has saved open space, cared for nature, and connected people to the outdoors in eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. Today, the organization is one of the nation’s largest regional land conservancies and is widely respected for its record of success, technical expertise, respectful and creative approach to partnerships, fiscal strength, and integrity.

Over the course of its nearly 70-year history, Natural Lands has helped preserve more than 125,000 acres. It owns and stewards 43 nature preserves and one public garden across two states and 13 counties. These 23,000 acres include many of the most spectacular and diverse properties in the region, which are enjoyed by more than 125,000 visitors annually.

Job Summary:

The Development Coordinator provides direct administrative assistance to Natural Lands’ leadership, including the Board of Trustees, President, Vice President of Development, and fundraising staff. As an integral member of a fast-paced and highly motivated nine-person development team, the Development Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between team members—executing projects and providing exceptional internal customer service to help ensure day-to-day and long-term success in meeting the department’s overarching strategic priorities of raising philanthropic revenue and advancing donor relations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum one to three years of experience performing administrative tasks, preferably in a fundraising setting and in supporting a Board of Trustees;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills,
  • Exceptional customer services skills
  • Ability to work productively in a team environment; affinity for learning about and assisting with other Development Department fundraising and relationship advancement priorities
  • Proficiency in word processing and computer databases; ability to learn specific database software and to analyze and utilize database information; experience with Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge or similar fund-raising software preferred; experience with the Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • A strong interest in conservation, the outdoors, and Natural Lands’ mission, and a strong desire to forge lasting relationships that support that mission.
  • Excellent organizational skills, thoroughness, and attention to detail, particularly in data entry.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and access to car
