ChesLen Bird Walk
ChesLen Preserve – Corcoran’s Bridge |
May 2, 2023 8:00 am - 10:00 am
ChesLen is a birder’s paradise especially in the spring. Jim McVoy, a longtime birder and Natural Lands volunteer, will lead us on a walk through ChesLen’s vast meadows and alongside lush wetlands.
Note – We will be meet at the 1722 Embreeville Road parking lot at the northern end of the preserve near the Star Gazers’ Stone. This parking lot is across from Corcoran’s Bridge.
ChesLen Preserve is the largest privately owned nature preserve open to the public in Chester County. Miles of marked hiking trails lead visitors through shady woodlands, flower-filled meadows, fields of corn and soybeans, and stream valleys.
Visitors can also explore Ollie Owl’s NaturePlayGround, where young explorers can climb logs, build stick tee-pees, hunt for bugs, explore small streams, and get a little dirty, tired, and inspired. Free play is encouraged and is a great way for kids to gain an appreciation for nature.
Before you go:
- Meet at the 1722 Embreeville Road parking lot at the northern end of the preserve near the Star Gazers’ Stone.
Birders of all backgrounds and experience levels are invited to join the walk.
Please bring binoculars, and a water bottle to stay hydrated.
Please leave your four-legged friends at home.
Trails may be muddy and wet; dress appropriately. Bring binoculars.
