Volunteer – Bamboo Blitz
Saunders Woods Preserve | October 22, 2020 09:00am - October 22, 2020 11:30am
Love nature and want to lend her a helping hand? Join staff and fellow volunteers in cutting invasive bamboo stalks, clearing the way for native vegetation to grow along a stream’s edge at Saunders Woods. Bamboo is actually a fast-growing member of the grass family. Native to Asia, here in North America it quickly displaces other plants, and offers no benefit to native insects and wildlife.
Volunteering with Natural Lands is a great way to learn more about the natural world, give your time to a great cause, and connect with enthusiastic like-minded people.
The health and safety of staff and volunteers is our highest priority during this volunteer event. Please review “before you go” details. Masks and social distancing will be practiced.
Capacity is limited for this small-group event. If you need to cancel, please let us know so another volunteer can attend. All are welcome, regardless of race or ethnicity.
Saunders Woods Preserve is a natural oasis for wildlife and community residents in the heart of the Main Line. The Bridlewild Trail passes through the preserve and connects to a wider system of paths that wind through the community. A walk here reveals a lively forest habitat as well as an open meadow that is home to a variety of bird species.
What to wear and expect:

Please help us all stay safe:

Events may be cancelled due to inclement weather or low registration. In that case, we will make every effort to update our website and contact registrants. Note that we cannot offer refunds of paid registrations or ticket purchases, but rest assured that your donation will help us in our work to save open space, care for nature, and connect people to the outdoors.
