Volunteer – Take on Trails at our NaturePlayGround
ChesLen Preserve | Wed, July 17, 2019, 9:00am - 12:00pm
During hot summer days, kids clamor to explore the shaded hollows of Ollie Owl’s NaturePlayGround. Join Natural Lands staff and volunteers as we tidy this special space so little visitors can continue to fall in love with nature through outdoor play. We’ll trim trails, spread mulch, and spruce-up in general.
Volunteering with Natural Lands is a great way to learn about habitats and wildlife, while helping care for natural resources and connecting with like-minded people. Grab gloves and join us!
(We’re glad little ones love our NaturePlayGround, but this volunteer work day is for ages 12 and up, due to rugged terrain and heavy equipment on-site.)
ChesLen Preserve is the largest privately owned nature preserve open to the public in Chester County. Miles of marked hiking trails lead visitors through shady woodlands, flower-filled meadows, fields of corn and soybeans, and stream valleys.
Visitors can also explore Ollie Owl’s NaturePlayGround, where young explorers can climb logs, build stick tee-pees, hunt for bugs, explore small streams, and get a little dirty, tired, and inspired. Free play is encouraged and is a great way for kids to gain an appreciation for nature.
