ChesLen Preserve is the largest privately owned nature preserve open to the public in Chester County. Miles of marked hiking trails lead visitors through shady woodlands, flower-filled meadows, fields of corn and soybeans, and stream valleys.

Visitors can also explore Ollie Owl’s NaturePlayGround, where young explorers can climb logs, build stick tee-pees, hunt for bugs, explore small streams, and get a little dirty, tired, and inspired. Free play is encouraged and is a great way for kids to gain an appreciation for nature.

  • Water will be provided following the event.
  • Anyone wishing to carry their water on the trails should bring their own hydration packs, waste belts, or hand-helds.
  • Sturdy shoes recommended for rugged trails.
  • We’ll provide (2) beers per participant following each event (ages 21 and over).
  • Participants under 21 are welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Headlamps are recommended for the October 11th event at Binky Lee.
  • Events are rain or shine; dress for the weather and bring change of clothes, if you’d like.
  • Please leave your four-legged friends at home.

Want to take it to the next level?

Join our “Thirsty Thursdays Trail Team” for the ChesLen Chase for Open Space on October 20! All Thirsty Thursdays attendees will be given the team password – apply it when pre-registering for the ChesLen Chase. When the team reaches 8 members, you’ll each receive a $5 discount off the registration fee, so invite a friend to Thirsty Thursdays! Team members must pre-register for the race.

If you attend at least 2 of the 3 “Thirsty Thursdays” events, and run/walk the ChesLen Chase for Open Space (individually, with family, or as part of the “Thirsty Thursdays Trail Team”) we’ll recognize your efforts with a special award at the race!

Event is free. Pre-registration is preferred to ensure that plenty of refreshments are on hand. Please complete and submit the secure, online registration form below, or call 610-353-5587 ext. 221.
