Family Sensory Walk – cancelled
July 10, 2024 | 10:15 am - 11:00 am
Event is cancelled. Please connect with us at another adventure in this series:
Take a multisensory walk with us and experience the both peaceful and busy world of the garden landscape. We’ll use our own personal, powerful tools of observation and explore the sights, sounds, smells, textures, and tastes of Stoneleigh on this 45-minute, guided adventure.
Ages 4-8 recommended, but all ages welcome.
For nearly 80 years, Stoneleigh was the home of the Haas family, which donated the property to Natural Lands in 2016 so that it would remain preserved forever.
The property includes stately trees, winding pathways, and lush gardens that were designed by a number of notable landscape architects over the past century—including the Olmsted Brothers, sons of the famed Frederick Law Olmsted.
Before you go:
- Meet at the Welcome Kiosk.
- Bring a camera to capture your favorite spaces.
- Service animals are welcome as required by law. Pets are not permitted.
- Picnicking at the Catalpa Court pavilion is available as first come, first serve.
- The terrain is relatively level. There is about a mile-and-a-half of porous paved pathways and a mile of asphalt roads that are accessible to people who use strollers, wheelchairs, or other mobility aids.
- Accessible bathrooms are available on-site and will be open.
- This video is a guide to visiting Stoneleigh: a natural garden in Villanova, PA.
- If you are sick or feeling unwell, please stay home.
