Annual Nesting Bird Census

Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary | Sat, June 01, 2019, 7:30am - 12:00pm

Grab binoculars and join us in counting birds! Since 1981, staff and volunteers have conducted an annual nesting bird census to count the number of species and individual birds breeding at our Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary.

The census results serve as an important tool to help assess habitat management strategies on the preserve. Healthy habitats sustain a variety of nesting species, including flycatchers, tanagers, thrushes, and warblers.
