Wild Woodland Animals Nature Play Day
ChesLen Preserve | Fri, July 28, 2017, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Get down and dirty at Ollie Owl’s NaturePlayGround at ChesLen Preserve! Spend the morning climbing logs, building teepees, hiking, hunting for bugs, exploring small streams, and getting dirty. Free play is encouraged and is a great way for young explorers to gain an appreciation for nature.
We’ll highlight “Wild Woodland Animals,” with Natural Lands staff and volunteers guiding fun hands-on activities such as story time, nature exploration, and crafts. Feel free to stay and play as little or long as you like.
ChesLen Preserve is the largest privately owned nature preserve open to the public in Chester County. Miles of marked hiking trails lead visitors through shady woodlands, flower-filled meadows, fields of corn and soybeans, and stream valleys.
Visitors can also explore Ollie Owl’s NaturePlayGround, where young explorers can climb logs, build stick tee-pees, hunt for bugs, explore small streams, and get a little dirty, tired, and inspired. Free play is encouraged and is a great way for kids to gain an appreciation for nature.
Light refreshments will be served. Ollie Owl’s NaturePlayGround is geared towards children ages 4-12 years old, but older kids and adults will find themselves having fun too! Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
All participants must sign a Hold Harmless Waiver – download and bring the completed form with you, or complete and sign on-site.
Ollie Owl’s NaturePlayGround is located at 1199 Cannery Road, Coatesville, PA. Look for the arches on the left-hand side of the parking area to guide you down the trail to the NaturePlayGround. Ollie Owl’s trail is not suitable for most strollers. Parking and restrooms are available a short walk away at the Lenfest Center. Please leave your four-legged friends at home.
Event is free. Registration is required. Register adults and children by submitting the secure on-line form below, to let us know you are coming. For more information, please email Becky Rennix at email@example.com or call 610-353-5587 ext. 214.
Events may be cancelled due to inclement weather or low registration. In that case, we will make every effort to update our website and contact registrants. Note that we cannot offer refunds of paid registrations or ticket purchases, but rest assured that your donation will help us in our work to save open space, care for nature, and connect people to the outdoors.
