Little Wonders: Native Plants for Small Spaces
Stoneleigh: A Natural Garden | Sat, July 21, 2018, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Native plants can thrive in the coziest of spaces: small urban or suburban yards, rooftop containers, and patio plots. Stoneleigh: a natural garden showcases a wondrous variety of native plants to enhance even the smallest spot.
Join staff in a tour highlighting little wonders around the garden, and enjoy a peek inside the main house, too! Bring camera and notebook to capture ideas for your own outdoor oasis.
For nearly 80 years, Stoneleigh was the home of the Haas family, which donated the property to Natural Lands in 2016 so that it would remain preserved forever.
The property includes stately trees, winding pathways, and lush gardens that were designed by a number of notable landscape architects over the past century—including the Olmsted Brothers, sons of the famed Frederick Law Olmsted.
- Meet at the Welcome Kiosk.
- Dress for the season and wear sturdy shoes.
- Bring a camera to capture your favorite plants.
- Sorry, dogs are not permitted at Stoneleigh.
