Green, the Color of April
Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary | Sun, April 22, 2018, 1:00pm - 4:00pm
April is a time of renewal where the landscape changes from soft winter gray to colorful spring green. Join Preserve Manager Tim Burris on a walk to discover plants and animals that thrive at Mariton.
Along picturesque trails of our 200-acre preserve, we’ll examine budding trees, listen for bird songs, and scan the landscape for signs of spring. Binoculars and cameras encouraged!
Mariton is perched on the steep slopes of Bougher Hill overlooking the scenic Delaware River. A highlight of the preserve’s trail system is the River Lookout Trail, with an overlook of both the Delaware Canal and the Delaware River 300 feet below.
Mariton’s Nature Center includes a library, meeting space, and ADA restrooms, and is open by prior arrangement.
What to wear:
- Dress for the season and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes
- Long pants and long-sleeved shirt, to protect you from poison ivy and brambles
- Bug spray and hat are suggested
Please leave your four-legged friends at home.
