See you in the garden!
After two years of planning, planting, and preparation, Natural Lands’ Stoneleigh: A Natural Garden—the Philadelphia region’s newest garden—opens its gates! Natural Lands members are invited to an exclusive “first look” before the property opens to the public.
You won’t want to miss this extra-special opportunity to pick your own spot on the Great Lawn for your BYO picnic.
Stroll the gardens with your preferred beverage, and tour the Main House—a Tudor Revival mansion that was the Haas family home for generations—at your leisure.
Pre-registration is required. Plan to arrive any time between 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Please review parking information, under “Before You Go” below.
Can’t attend Saturday? Join our Stroll About: A Public Opening on Mother’s Day Sunday, May 13.
For nearly 80 years, Stoneleigh was the home of the Haas family, which donated the property to Natural Lands in 2016 so that it would remain preserved forever.
The property includes stately trees, winding pathways, and lush gardens that were designed by a number of notable landscape architects over the past century—including the Olmsted Brothers, sons of the famed Frederick Law Olmsted.
Parking for the First Look event is available only at a nearby Villanova University parking garage. Park and walk one block east on Spring Mill Road, to the intersection with County Line Road. Cross as directed, and enter through the corner gate. The SEPTA Villanova Train Station is a short walk to/from Stoneleigh.
The Stoneleigh parking lot, located at 1829 County Line Road, will be open for handicapped parking only during this special event.
We appreciate your interest, but due to overwhelming interest REGISTRATION FOR OUR MEMBERS FIRST-LOOK IS CLOSED.
Events may be cancelled due to inclement weather or low registration. In that case, we will make every effort to update our website and contact registrants. Note that we cannot offer refunds of paid registrations or ticket purchases, but rest assured that your donation will help us in our work to save open space, care for nature, and connect people to the outdoors.
