Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary | Tue, May 29, 2018, 7:30am - 12:00pm
Join us for bird walks every Tuesday morning throughout the spring season, May 1 – June 5.
Preserve Manager Tim Burris and knowledgeable birders will guide the group to various locations in and around Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary in search of migratory and nesting bird species.
All eyes and ears are welcome, as we look for warblers, orioles, flycatchers, tanagers, thrushes, and other avian species.
Mariton is perched on the steep slopes of Bougher Hill overlooking the scenic Delaware River. A highlight of the preserve’s trail system is the River Lookout Trail, with an overlook of both the Delaware Canal and the Delaware River 300 feet below.
Mariton’s Nature Center includes a library, meeting space, and ADA restrooms, and is open by prior arrangement.
Dress for the season and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes.
Birders of all backgrounds and experience levels are invited to join the walk.
Bring water bottle and binoculars (a few are available to borrow).
Please leave your four-legged friends at home.
Meet at Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary at 7:30 am, to carpool to the birding location.
Event is free. Registration required. Please complete and submit the secure, on-line registration form below to let us know you are coming, or call 610-353-5587 ext. 221.
Events may be cancelled due to inclement weather or low registration. In that case, we will make every effort to update our website and contact registrants. Note that we cannot offer refunds of paid registrations or ticket purchases, but rest assured that your donation will help us in our work to save open space, care for nature, and connect people to the outdoors.
