8:00 am – 11:00 am. (Arrive anytime to see the process in action!)
Hildacy Farm Preserve, Media, PA
Natural Lands Trust is delighted to welcome back the staff of Willistown Conservation Trust’s highly-successful bird conservation program for an engaging bird-banding demonstration.
Our 55-acre Hildacy Farm Preserve features healthy field, woodland and riparian habitats to sustain a variety of avian species. During north-bound spring migration, federally-licensed banders take the opportunity to gently capture, band and examine birds as they move through our region.
Visitors will have ample opportunity to observe and photograph birds up-close, including warblers, thrushes, vireos and more. We’ll learn about the bird banding process, and how it contributes to conservation strategies for declining species.
Breakfast treats and beverages will be provided for this early-morning “Tweets & Treats” experience. Banding runs from 8:00 am – 11:00 am, when bird activity begins to slow down. Arrive anytime to see the process in action!
Registration required for this popular event.
Event fee: $10 per person. Half-price for NLT members! ($5 per person).
