Beats and Brews

Binky Lee Preserve | Sat, September 09, 2017, 6:00pm - 9:30pm

Join Natural Lands for a late-summer evening filled with live music, craft beer, and good friends amid Binky Lee’s stunning landscape.

Relax and enjoy MiZ & Friends featuring Mike Mizwinski, who will jam through the evening in celebration of 50 years of the Grateful Dead.

Thanks to our friends at Victory Brewing Company, all ticket-holders receive two free beers. Additional beer will be available for purchase, along with light dinner fare from Victory’s iconic Brew Pub on Wheels.

We have saved the 1,505-acre Bryn Coed Farms from development, but we still need to meet our $5 million fundraising goal to create a 500 acre preserve that will be open to the public free-of-charge, just like Binky Lee! Your Beats and Brews ticket purchase will help make this – as well as restoration initiatives and public use improvements at Binky Lee preserve – possible.

Can’t attend the event, but still want to contribute to the Campaign for Bryn Coed Farms? Click here to make a donation.

Attending the event but want to go above-and-beyond to help us in our mission? Simply put your additional donation amount in the “Additional Donation” box in the Ticketing Options below. We appreciate your support.

Type

Binky Lee Preserve is an expanse of former agricultural land that is being converted back to natural woodlands and meadows. Returning the land to nature actually requires a great deal of care and skill. For more than two decades, we’ve employed a range of restoration techniques to improve these habitats so plants and wildlife can thrive, and for people to enjoy.

More than 10,000 native trees have been planted on the preserve—a process known as afforestation—in an effort to expand the wooded areas. In other sections of the preserve, by not mowing we allow them to return to woodlands on their own. While it won’t happen overnight—and we’ll need to try to mitigate the impact of deer and invasive plants—these trees will eventually and provide critical forest habitat for wildlife.

Bring your own lawn chairs or blanket. Please, NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR ALCOHOL. Leave your four-legged friends at home.

Event is for adults age 21 and over. Gates open at 5:30 pm.
