75/50 Anniversary Program – Potluck Meal
Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary | Sat, February 16, 2019, 6:30pm - 9:30pm
75 years ago, Mary and Antonio Guerrero bought the first parcel of land that eventually became Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary. Twenty-five years later, in 1969, the Guerreros founded the Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary and Wilderness Trust.
To celebrate the 75/50 Anniversary we will have a potluck meal followed by a short presentation with photos from Mariton’s past, and a movie made by the Guerreros as they were renovating the house and grounds in order to move in.
Please call Preserve Manager Tim Burris at 610-258-6574 to coordinate your potluck contribution.
Mariton is perched on the steep slopes of Bougher Hill overlooking the scenic Delaware River. A highlight of the preserve’s trail system is the River Lookout Trail, with an overlook of both the Delaware Canal and the Delaware River 300 feet below.
Mariton’s Nature Center includes a library, meeting space, and ADA restrooms, and is open by prior arrangement.
Please leave your four-legged friends at home.
Event is free. Registration required. Please complete and submit the secure, on-line registration form below to let us know you are coming, or call 610-353-5587 ext. 221. Please call Preserve Manager Tim Burris at 610-258-6574 to coordinate your potluck contribution.
Events may be cancelled due to inclement weather or low registration. In that case, we will make every effort to update our website and contact registrants. Note that we cannot offer refunds of paid registrations or ticket purchases, but rest assured that your donation will help us in our work to save open space, care for nature, and connect people to the outdoors.
