Crow’s Nest Summer Camp 2024 – Week Three

We had morning and afternoon sessions of camp for 1st and 2nd graders, and the intent is for them to have a good time in nature at just one part of Crow’s Nest Preserve: the wire bridge and play area along Pine Creek. This setting offers opportunities to meet critters like the crayfish above, climb around on stumps, or just hang out on swings and hammocks.

A visit to the deep spot is always on the agenda, ideal on a hot day.

It’s amazing what the kids come up with when given some tarps, rope, swings, and a few tin cans (below). We look forward to these kids coming back and progressing through the camp program, learning all the habitats here and seeing how the preserve fits into the regional picture of conservation.
