Crow’s Nest Preserve: Make yourself at home
By Daniel Barringer, Preserve Manager.
After summer camp ended and as time has allowed, Cody and Allie have built some new Leopold chairs for the preserve—both to replace ones that have rotted and to create some new places to rest. You will find Leopold chairs—named for conservationist Aldo Leopold, who used this simple design at his shack in Wisconsin—in the barnyard and two kids’ play areas at Crows’ Nest, and now at also various other vantage points at the preserve. We now have enough of them that Cody (who was plant curator at our Stoneleigh Garden before coming here) has added accession numbers to track them. We hope you’ll stop to enjoy the view!
